There are a huge number of universities, art schools and colleges that can provide degree programs of various types in illustration, visual communication, fine art and animation. Students will be required to create stunning portfolios, showcasing their best work if they intend to get design jobs.

Many aspiring illustrators complete intern-ships for direct hands on experience and knowledge of the industry, while also being able to boost there portfolios.

Many aspiring artists do wonder if there are real prospects as an illustrator. If this is the case, recent studies have shown that there will be a projected increase in the employment of illustrators by 16% over the next few years.
